FAQ
When should we book our photographer? Typically couples book my services 8-12 months out. I only cover one full wedding per day, and typically only one per weekend to ensure my couples get me at 100%.
How would you describe your style? I am a documentary photographer at heart and the majority of my coverage is in that style. I'm low key and prefer to capture the moments, laughter, and joy of the day in an unobtrusive way. That being said I do love capturing beautiful details and creating relaxed portraits during those times of the day. My favorite part is being able to look at an entire wedding gallery and see the story of the day, the once in a lifetime moments captured, and being able to feel the day through the images.
What do we get after the wedding? Every wedding comes with an online gallery with all your final edited images to share with family & friends. The gallery is password protected and you will get a direct link to use/share.
How many images will we get? Every wedding is different and I never set out to try to deliver a certain number of images. A typical 8 hour wedding ends up with 700-900 final edited images.
We love your work, you sound perfect, how do we book? To book any date I require a signed contract and a $1000 deposit. Due to the nature of this profession I can not hold any dates until those two things are received.
Do you have back-ups in case something dies or is faulty? Sure do, my back-up have back-ups. I shoot all weddings with two cameras on me at all times but have two more stashed away in case of something. Currently using a mix of Nikon Z mount & Sony A9II Mirrorless bodies.
How much time will we need for portraits, when should we have you start? All weddings are unique and different and I work with each couple to offer suggestions on their wedding day timeline to ensure we have the time to get the very best photos. A wedding day goes by in a blink of an eye and I want my clients to get amazing photos, but to also be able to enjoy their day and not spend hours upon hours for posed photographs.
How many weddings have you photographed? I have been a wedding photographer for 12+ years now, shooting over 300+ weddings, hard for me to believe it has been that long. Before that I worked as a photojournalist and before that I attended RIT in Rochester NY and have a BFA in photography, and before that I was a darkroom rat in high school. After all these years, I still have a deep love for this craft.
What is your favorite part of being a wedding photographer? I love meeting my clients, being part of telling their story, and creating work that I know will become part of a family for generations. Wedding photography is so much more to me than pretty details and portraits. The images of friends, family, laughter, and joy will be viewed by generations I smile knowing my work will be part of something much larger than just that one day.
MY APPROACH
While each wedding is completely unique, my approach to everyone is the same. An open heart, full eyes, and fierce desire to capture images that will anchor my clients to a memory of how the day felt.
I love beautiful light, laughter and big love. My style is documentary in nature, capturing the emotions, joy, unscripted and uninterrupted.
The small moments often are what tell the bigger picture. Sometimes the most meaningful moments are intimate inside connections that simplicity speaks volumes. I’m there for it all. I see myself as a calm presence during the day, on the side, in the mix, capturing it all for clients.
